Saudi Standards to host First International Summit of Standards
The First International Summit will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2020.

Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO) will host the First International Summit of Standards within the activities of G20.

As a Saudi pioneering initiative, Saudi Arabia is organising the First International Summit with the participation of a large number of competent international organisations’ leaders, according to a statement on Tuesday.

The move comes as part of the kingdom’s efforts to enhance cooperation between all countries across different fields.

The First International Summit will take place on Wednesday, 4 November 2020, in collaboration with the G20 Secretariat, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The summit will discuss the role of national standardisation bodies in facing crises and will highlight the key part standard specifications play in enhancing the digital transformation's role during disasters.
